I've got two beautiful stories to share. I guess I'll tell the first one first.
At the Seattle Special Olympics, 9 contestants, all physically or mentally disable, assembled at the starting line of what was to be the 100-yards contest.
At the gun they all started out, not exactly in a dash but with a relish to run the race to the best of their ability and hopefully finish and win. All, that is, except one little boy who stumbled on the track, tumbled over a few times and began to cry out of sheer fright.
The other 8 heard the boy cry. They slowed down and looked back.
Then they all turned around and went back.. every single one of them.
One little girl with Down's Syndrom bent down and kissed him and said, ' This will make it better.'
Then all 9 linked arms and walked together to the finishing line. Everyone in the stadium stood and the cheering went on for minutes.
People who were there are still telling the story. Why ?
Because deep down we know this thing : What really matters in this life is helping others win, even if it means slowing down and changing course ourselves.
As the saying goes :' A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle from itself.'
People we call handicapped are the people who teach us this truth best.
Stay tune for the next story. (: For now, just keep running for God.
i love my God <3
