Before Paul died, he asked 3 things from his closest disciple, Timothy. Or, should I say son.
He asked for paper, book and clothing.
Do you know why ? (:
Stay tuned !
Anyway, here's the 2nd story. It's a little long. But if you last through it, I promise that you'll grasp something. Read on or get off now!
A mother took her 6 year old son Jonathan to a restaurant. Jonathan had been learning prayer in his Religious Class at school, so he asked his mom to let him say Grace.
As they bowed their heads, jonathan prayed, ' God is great, God is good. Thank you for this food. And I would even thank you more if Mum gets ice cream by the score. So bless, Lord, this food we eat. Amen!'
Mosto f the people at nearby tables laughed - except one stern faced woman who remarked, ' That's what is wrong with this century. Children today don't even know how to pray. Asking God for icecream.. How awful!'
Jonathan heard the woman and naturally felt very upset and began to cry.
He meant no harm with his off-the-cuff prayer.
He checked with his mom 'Is God mad at me now ?'
He enquired.
His mom hugged him and assured Jonathan that he had done a good job with the prayer and that God was not mad at him.
Just then, an elderly gentleman came up to their talbe and assured him:'Son, that was a beautiful prayer you said.'
'Really?' Jonathan asked.
'Cross my heart,' the man answered. Then in a stage whisper just loud enough for the indignant woman to hear he added, ' Too bad she never asked God for icecream. Sometimes a little icecream is good for the soul.'
At the end of the meal mom answered his prayer and ordered icecream.
Jonathan stared at his icecream for a moment and then to his mother's surprise he picked up his dish and carefully brought it over to the woman's talbe and placed it in front of her.
Jonathan politely said ,' Here, this is for you. Ice cream is good for the soul, and my soul is good enough already.'
(: Hope you caught something.
